Black Skimmers have been nesting in Pinellas County for over a decade, with one of the largest and most productive colonies in the state residing on St. Pete Beach. But what are Black Skimmers?
Join us at the Black Skimmer workshop to learn about these charismatic seabirds! One of the most unusual seabirds you'll ever see, these skimmers are sure to capture your attention when out during your evening beach stroll. During this workshop, we will learn how they can lay their eggs and raise their chicks on sandy beaches during the peak of summer, and how exactly they catch fish without crash-landing into the water. We will also discuss their habitat loss and how we can work together as a community to help them survive.
This is a free workshop open to residents of St. Pete Beach and other nearby communities!  See details HERE.

We want to know what you think about creating specific days our community should water our yards to conserve and help keep our lawns beautiful!
